Dear Parents:
Welcome back to year 3 of our school! Congratulations on a successful first week! Hopefully, you found our campuses ready for students and were as excited as I to put our new Middle School Campus and our new gymnasium expansion to good use! For those of you new to ISNP, I send home a parent newsletter at the end of each school week that contains news, reminders, upcoming events and other pieces of information that are of value to maximizing your child's experience at our wonderful school.
E-Newsletter and Campus Editions next Friday
Beginning next week Friday, we will be transitioning to an electronic only newsletter, with an Elementary Campus edition, and a Middle School Campus edition. Each edition will have grade-level specific news combined with school wide events and information. We will email the newsletter through our online grade book program. In order to stay informed on the latest Imagine news (newsletters, announcements, etc), please give your email address(es) to one of your child’s teachers. Don't forget that your email account also serves as your username for our online interactive grade book Teacherease, which allows you to stay updated on your child's grading and academic progress. As always, our Friday newsletters will be archived on our school’s website:

Fall SAT 10 Administration
This week we administered the Stanford Achievement Test 10 th Edition (SAT 10) to students in grades 1-8. ISNP uses the SAT 10 to determine yearly gains by assessing students at the beginning and end of each school year. Additionally, our teachers will use the Fall administration results to determine students’ needs at the beginning of the year for instruction. Parents will be provided with a student summary report when we receive our data after scoring. Thank you for bringing your students to school on time each day this week. Because of the terrific attendance this week, we are able to get back to a normal daily schedule more quickly.

Imagine School at North Port received three national awards:
Imagine School of the Year, Character Education Award, and Co-Winner
for Parent Choice Award for new Imagine charter schools. |

Mr. Matthews Mohawk Monday
As you may recall, I issued a challenge to last year's 4th grade students to improve their academics, and specifically their writing. As an incentive, I explained to the students that should their Writing proficiency scores exceed 90%, then I would shave my hair into a mohawk for them and wear it proudly for one week. Naturally, our wonderful students rose to the challenge and in doing so our students school wide showed the most improvements in the entire school district! On Monday morning during our live morning announcements show, I will complete my promise by receiving a new haircut, and issue a new challenge to our students to keep improving their learning gains!
Housekeeping Items
Just a friendly reminder on the following items that will greatly help the safety, efficiency and ease of communication with the school: if you have not done so, please complete and turn in all back-to-school paperwork, especially the bronze colored emergency card, send in or update your email address with your child's homeroom teacher, display your official carpool placard when you come to pick up.
ISNP Booster Club Fundraiser
On Wednesday, September 15 th at 8:00pm the ISNP Booster Club is holding a fundraiser at Visani’s Dinner and Comedy Club. You can purchase tickets for $10 at the middle school office or send a check made out to ISNP Booster Club. Come support our new sports programs by enjoying a night of laughter and good food!
Best Regards,
