Dear Parents:

All 4 th graders will be taking the FCAT Writing assessment Tuesday morning, February 9 th. We are very excited about the progress the students have made so far this year and expect our students will do a great job. To help them do their best, we will be providing a free, energy-boosting breakfast for all 4 th graders at 8:00 A.M. in their writing classrooms. If you have a 4 th grade student, here are a few things that you can do to help to make Tuesday a good testing experience:

Give your child encouragement. Praise him/her for the things done well throughout the year. A child who is afraid of failing is more likely to make a mistake.

Try not to be overly anxious about test scores. Too much emphasis on test scores can be upsetting to children.

Make sure your child arrives on time for school.

If your child wears a hearing aid or glasses, be sure he/she remembers to use them during all testing sessions.

Make sure that your child is well rested on the day of the test.

Please note that in order to adhere to secure testing conditions; parents will not be able to enter classrooms until after testing is completed in the morning.

Yearbook “Love Note” Orders

New this year, we are offering ad space in our wonderful yearbook. Parents may purchase “love notes” for their students, and local businesses may advertise. The order form is available in the front office and the deadline is February 20 th. Please email your design, photo, and text to: stacy.kohler@imagineschools.com and return the form with your payment. Space is limited, so don’t delay!

Valentine’s Day Date Night Babysitting

The PTO will be hosting a Valentine’s Date Night on February 12 th, 6-9pm, supervised by teachers. The evening will include a “G” rated movie, dinner (pizza) with a beverage and popcorn during intermission. Students are welcome to bring a pillow and a sleeping bag or blanket. Only Imagine students in grades kindergarten through 5 th are permitted to attend. Due to the limited space in the cafeteria, you are encouraged to turn in your permission slips early. All permission slips must be received on or before Monday, February 8.

PTO Directory

At the beginning of the school year, each family was given the option to have their information published in the directory. With the hard work of the PTO Directory Committee, the PTO is proud to announce the release of the 2009/2010 Imagine School at North Port School Directory. In this directory you will see class lists, possible carpool options in your neighborhood, along with a wealth of information! The purpose of this directory is so our parents can connect with other parents within our Imagine Family. We hope you enjoy this directory and send a great big “thank you” to our PTO Directory Committee for putting together such a fabulous directory!
