1) Dear Parents/Guardians
---------------------------------------------------------------------
This week was exciting on several different fronts! First, it was extremely
gratifying to see both campuses settle into a calm routine, with teachers already
digging deep into our curriculum and challenging students with exciting and
engaging activities! Second, I was overwhelmed by the school pride and showing of
support for "Mr. Matthews Mohawk Monday" by all of our students and our parents as
well! Our school's next challenge will be to improve the number of students
performing at or above grade level in all content areas and across all grades. To
assist in this effort, our teachers have undergone additional professional
development this summer to increase their knowledge in high yield teaching
strategies. We have also expanded our instructional schedule to include 30 minutes
daily of additional enrichment for students who are currently performing on or
above grade level. As always, students who are struggling will continue to receive
at least 30 minutes of additional instruction in small groups each day. Again, all
of this extra support occurs in addition to our students' full academic day!

2) E-Newsletter and Campus Editions
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Just a reminder that today marks the first e-newsletter edition, as well as
different versions for the elementary and middle school campuses. In order to stay
informed on the latest Imagine news (newsletters, announcements, etc), please give
your email address(es) to one of your child's teachers. Don't forget that your
email account also serves as your username for our online interactive grade book
Teacherease, which allows you to stay updated on your child's grading and academic
progress. As always, our Friday newsletters will be archived on our school's
website: http://www.imagineschoolatnorthport.com.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
3) Student Chorus Auditions
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Fourth and fifth grade students, we are starting up a chorus just for you! The
choir will rehearse after school from 3:15 to 4:15 every Tuesday afternoon with
performances throughout the year. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, September
14th after school. If you are interested, please be sure to sign up and pick up an
audition sheet for more information.
Please contact Ms. Minton with any questions. Good luck!

Imagine School at North Port received three national awards:
